‘Succession’ Dominates Directors Guild TV Nominations, Again: ICH

The final season of “Succession” was predictably strong in the Directors Guild of America’s television nominations for 2023, taking four of the five nominations in the drama series category. “The Last of Us” received the final nomination in the category.

Two years ago, “Succession” became the first series in 39 years to receive all the nominations in its category. The show received 11 DGA nominations for its four seasons on the air, and has won twice so far.

In the comedy series category, “Ted Lasso” and “The Bear” received two nominations each, with “Barry” landing the final spot.

In the limited series or TV movie category, “Lessons in Chemistry” took three of the nominations, with “All the Light We Cannot See” and “Daisy Jones & the Six” filling out the category.

The DGA also announced nominees in the documentary category, with noms going to “Bobi Wine: The People’s President,” “Beyond Utopia,” “Kokomo City,” “Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie” and “20 Days in Mariupol”
