\"VarietyLogo1\"<\/a>The upcoming Hulu series \u201cMarvel\u2019s Runaways\u201d has added Julian McMahon to its cast, Variety has learned exclusively.<\/p>\n

The series follows the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against their parents when the kids discover they are part of an evil underground organization. McMahon will play Jonah. While his origins and ultimate intentions are unknown, he is a pivotal player in the main characters\u2019 rebellion against their parents.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re incredibly excited to add Julian to our exceptional cast and we can\u2019t wait to see what he brings to the world of Marvel\u2019s \u2018Runaways,’\u201d said executive producers and showrunners Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.<\/p>\n

This is not McMahon\u2019s first foray into the Marvel world. He previously starred as Dr. Doom in the 2005 version of \u201cFantastic Four\u201d and its sequel \u201cFantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.\u201d He is also well known for his starring role in the FX series \u201cNip\/Tuck,\u201d which was created by Ryan Murphy. He recently appeared in series \u201cDirk Gently\u2019s Holistic Detective Agency\u201d and the mini-series adaptation of \u201cChildhood\u2019s End.\u201d<\/p>\n

McMahon also stars in Stephan Elliott\u2019s upcoming comedy-drama, \u201cFlammable Children,\u201d opposite Guy Pearce, Rhada Mitchell, and Kylie Minogue. Jamie Hilton and Al Clark produce the film. He can also be seen in the Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Eric B. Fleischman produced indie thriller, \u201cMonster Party,\u201d directed by Chris Von Hoffmann. He stars opposite Robin Tunney, Erin Moriarty, Virginia Gardner\u2013who also stars on \u201cRunaways\u201d\u2013 Sam Strike, and Lance Reddick.<\/p>\n

\u201cMarvel\u2019s Runaways\u201d is executive produced by Schwartz and Savage along with Marvel\u2019s head of television, Jeph Loeb, and Jim Chory. Fake Empire\u2019s Lis Rowinski will also produce. The series is a co-production with Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios.<\/p>\n
