\u201cBarbie\u201d won two awards to lead all films at the 14th annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles, while \u201cDaisy Jones & the Six\u201d won a pair to lead in the television categories.<\/p>\n
Music supervisor George Drakoulias won in the Best Music Supervision for Film Budgeted Over $25 Million category for \u201cBarbie,\u201d while Drakoulias and songwriters Billie Eilish and Finneas O\u2019Connell won in the Best Song Written and\/or Recorded for a Film category for \u201cWhat Was I Made For?\u201d<\/p>\n
Other film winners were \u201cJoy Ride\u201d (Best Music Supervision for Film Budgeted $25 Million and Under), \u201cTheater Camp\u201d (Best Music Supervision for Film Budgeted $10 Million and Under) and a tie between \u201cChang Can Dunk\u201d and \u201cTotally Killer\u201d for Best Music Supervision for a Non-Theatrically Released Film.<\/p>\n
\u201cDaisy Jones\u201d music supervisor Frankie Pine won in the Best Music Supervision \u2013 Television Comedy or Musical category, while that limited series also won in the Best Song Written and\/or Recorded for Television category for \u201cLook at Us Now (Honeycomb).\u201d \u201cThe White Lotus\u201d and \u201cLove & Hip Hop: Miami\u201d also won TV awards.<\/p>\n
In the documentary categories, Jonathan Finegold won for \u201cLittle Richard: I Am Everything\u201d and Andrea von Foerster won for \u201cWelcome to Wrexham\u201d Season 2.<\/p>\n
The trailers for \u201cKillers of the Flower Moon,\u201d \u201cYellowjackets\u201d and \u201cSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League\u201d also won awards. \u201cMarvel\u2019s Spider-Man 2\u201d won in both of the video game categories.<\/p>\n
Eilish and O\u2019Connell\u2019s win for \u201cWhat Was I Made For?\u201d came from a category that also contained two songs they\u2019re competing against for the Best Original Song Oscar \u2014 \u201cI\u2019m Just Ken,\u201d also from \u201cBarbie,\u201d and \u201cIt Never Went Away\u201d from \u201cAmerican Symphony.\u201d In the previous eight years that the GMS has presented an award in the song category, its winner has only gone on to take the song Oscar twice.<\/p>\n
Sunday\u2019s ceremony also honored the late Robbie Robertson with a performance by Margo Price, Rocco DeLuca and Johnny Shepherd. Robertson was also honored with the posthumous presentation of the Icon Award, while Allan Mason received the Legacy Award.<\/p>\n
The show took place at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
