Cannes Wish List: 30 Movies We Hope Make the Cut in 2024: <\/h1>\n

The entire film industry is soon to descend upon the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur this May as the Cannes Film Festival readies for its 77th edition. From May 14 through May 25, the iconic festival event of the year will host much-awaited new works for auteurs and rising directors alike, across sections like the Competition, Directors\u2019 Fortnight, Un Certain Regard (with jury president Xavier Dolan), and Critics\u2019 Week. Major prizes will come at the end of the festival, and will no doubt set the tone for the movie year ahead.<\/p>\n

Such was the case last year when Justine Triet\u2019s eventual Oscar winner \u201cAnatomy of a Fall\u201d took home the top award, the Palme d\u2019Or, the fourth consecutive film distributed by Neon to do so. Jonathan Glazer\u2019s 2023 Grand Prize winner \u201cThe Zone of Interest\u201d also won two Academy Awards, while Competition entries \u201cPerfect Days\u201d and \u201cMay December\u201d earned Oscar nominations, too. Other Cannes winners like \u201cLa Chimera\u201d and \u201cFallen Leaves\u201d also factored into the awards conversation last fall.<\/p>\n
