\u2018Oppenheimer\u2019 Leads Sound Editors\u2019 Golden Reel Award Nominations: <\/h1>\n

\u201cOppenheimer\u201d led all films in nominations for the Motion Picture Sound Editors\u2019 Golden Reel Awards, which were announced on Tuesday. The Christopher Nolan film received three nominations, while \u201cBarbie,\u201d \u201cMaestro\u201d and \u201cSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse\u201d each received two.<\/p>\n

The MPSE announced nominations in 20 categories encompassing film, television, game and student projects. For Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing \u2013 Feature Effects\/Foley, the Golden Reel category that most closely corresponds to the Oscar for Best Sound, the nominees were \u201cGran Turismo,\u201d \u201cFerrari,\u201d \u201cJohn Wick Chapter 4,\u201d \u201cNapoleon,\u201d \u201cOppenheimer\u201d and \u201cThe Killer.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Oscars\u2019 10-film shortlist in the sound category includes Golden Reel nominees \u201cOppenheimer,\u201d \u201cBarbie,\u201d \u201cMaestro,\u201d \u201cFerrari,\u201d \u201cNapoleon,\u201d \u201cThe Killer,\u201d \u201cKillers of the Flower Moon,\u201d and \u201cThe Zone of Interest,\u201d along with \u201cThe Creator\u201d and \u201cMission: Impossible \u2013 Dead Reckoning Part One,\u201d which were not nominated by the MPSE.<\/p>\n

Last week, the other professional sound organization that gives out awards, the Cinema Audio Society, announced its nominations for sound mixing. \u201cOppenheimer\u201d and \u201cFerrari\u201d are the only two films to make the Golden Reel effects\/foley category and the CAS live-action motion picture category.<\/p>\n

In the broadcast categories, \u201cThe Last of Us\u201d led with three nominations, followed by \u201cAll the Light We Cannot See,\u201d \u201cTed Lasso,\u201d \u201cThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,\u201d \u201cLoki,\u201d \u201cBeef\u201d and \u201cThe Bear\u201d with two.<\/p>\n

Winners will be announced at the MPSE Golden Reel Awards on Sunday, March 3 at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. At the ceremony, Michael Dinner will receive the MPSE Filmmaker Award and Dane A. Davis will receive the MPSE Career Achievement Award.<\/p>\n
