Michael Imperioli Boards Paul Schrader\u2019s \u2018Oh, Canada\u2019: <\/h1>\n

Michael Imperioli (The White Lotus) is confirmed for a role in Academy Award nominee Paul Schrader\u2018s new film Oh, Canada, Deadline has learned.<\/p>\n

The actor joins an ensemble that includes Richard Gere, Jacob Elordi and Kristine Froseth.<\/p>\n

An adaptation of the late Russell Banks\u2019 2021 novel Foregone, the film will tell the story of Leonard Fife (Gere), a famed documentary filmmaker who takes stock of his life, with not long to go after being stricken with cancer at 80 years old. The most unreliable of narrators \u2014 and of men \u2014 Fife offers the viewer a look at his home life, as a draft-dodging artist who abandoned one family for another, consistently evading any sense of responsibility for actions as he starts a new life in Canada.<\/p>\n

Elordi plays a young Fife, seen from his late teens through his mid-20s, and Froseth shares 1968-set scenes with the Saltburn star as the character\u2019s second wife, the conservative Virginian Alicia. Details as to Imperioli\u2019s role are under wraps.<\/p>\n

Producers for Oh, Canada are David Gonzalez (Master Gardener), Tiffany Boyle (The Card Counter), Scott LaStaiti (Master Gardener) and Luisa Law (Master Gardener). Production wrapped under an interim agreement in October.<\/p>\n

An Emmy winner and six-time nominee most recently recognized for his work in the second season of HBO\u2019s dark comedy The White Lotus, Imperioli is best known for his role as Christopher Moltisanti, the prot\u00e9g\u00e9 of Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini), on HBO\u2019s iconic series The Sopranos from creator David Chase. In addition to The White Lotus, he\u2019s most recently been seen on Hulu\u2019s comedy series This Fool and in Regina King\u2019s One Night in Miami\u2026, also serving as narrator for Sopranos prequel movie The Many Saints of Newark.<\/p>\n

Up next for Imperioli is the \u201990s-set romantic drama Last Days of Basic Cable from director Max Winkler, which has him starring alongside Jessica Barden, Shane Paul McGhie and more. He is repped by Gersh, Anonymous Content and Kraditor & Haber.<\/p>\n
