Hulu Launches Top 15 Daily List of Most Popular Movies, TV Shows: <\/h1>\n

Disney\u2019s Hulu has jumped on the trend of releasing the most-popular trending titles on its service \u2014 but instead of the usual top 10 lists for movies and shows, it\u2019s lumping both into one top 15 ranking.<\/p>\n

Hulu on Thursday launched \u201cTop 15 Today,\u201d a collection of trending movies and TV series that will be updated daily. Topping the first list are Hulu original series \u201cOnly Murders in the Building,\u201d starring Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short, followed by FX\u2019s \u201cWelcome to Wrexham\u201d and Hulu\u2019s \u201cThe Other Black Girl.\u201d Three \u201cPirates of the Caribbean\u201d movies, starring Johnny Depp, are on today\u2019s list: the first installment, \u201cThe Curse of the Black Pearl\u201d; \u201cDead Man\u2019s Chest\u201d; and \u201cAt World\u2019s End.\u201d (See full list below.)<\/p>\n

Hulu has long offered recommendations. Now it\u2019s offering another content-discovery feature with the Top 15 list, following in the footsteps of Netflix and more recently Warner Bros. Discovery\u2019s Max. Unlike those other two, though, which have separate top 10s for movies and TV shows, Hulu is combining all titles under one umbrella.<\/p>\n

Beginning Thursday, subscribers will see the Top 15 Today on their homepage. The Top 15 ranking is based on total views at the episode level within a 24-hour period and takes into account the popularity of new shows and movies released during that time frame. Hulu\u2019s entire on-demand catalog is eligible for inclusion, regardless of when the title premiered on the platform.<\/p>\n

The list will be updated daily between 11 a.m. and noon PT. Separately, Hulu will continue to release performance announcements for select titles, based on views, which is total stream-time divided by runtime available.<\/p>\n

On any given day, the list will feature 15 different TV series and\/or films that are currently trending on Hulu. If multiple episodes of a series are in the top rankings, the highest episode will count toward the ultimate ranking position of the series.<\/p>\n

Hulu\u2019s Top 15 Today list will not be visible on kids\u2019 profiles.<\/p>\n
