\u2018The Batman\u2019 and \u2018Black Panther: Wakanda Forever\u2019 Lead Critics Choice Super Award Noms: <\/h1>\n

Well, perhaps there is justice after all for Viola Davis, Kelly Reilly, Paul Dano, Keke Palmer and Oscar luncheon magnet Tom Cruise, all Emmy and Oscar un-nominated for their work over the past year but represented in the Critics Choice Super Award nominations, honoring horror, superhero, science fiction and action movies and television series.<\/p>\n

Oscar nominees such as Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Stephanie Hsu (\u201cEverything Everywhere All at Once\u201d) and Angela Bassett (\u201cBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever\u201d) are also repped here, as well as Colin Farrell, nominated twice for two of his other 2022 films, \u201cAfter Yang\u201d and \u201cThe Batman\u201d. (Co-nominee Brendan Fraser managed a nod for the HBO Max series \u201cDoom Patrol as well). Bassett similarly scored a second nomination for her leading role on Fox\u2019s \u201c9-1-1.\u201d<\/p>\n

Genre enthusiasts will also be happy to see names dropped by various insiders as longshots for Oscar nominations during awards season, including \u201cPearl\u201d star Mia Goth (nominated for both Best Actor in a Horror Movie and Best Villain), Rebecca Hall in \u201cResurrection,\u201d Justin Long in \u201cBarbarian,\u201d Amber Midthunder in \u201cPrey,\u201d and Ralph Fiennes in \u201cThe Menu\u201d.<\/p>\n

Television nominees were led by four different programs (\u201cEvil,\u201d \u201cHouse of the Dragon,\u201d \u201cThe Boys\u201d and \u201cWhat We Do in the Shadows\u201d), with Marvel and Disney+ shows making a strong showing (including \u201cAndor,\u201d \u201cMoon Knight,\u201d \u201cShe-Hulk: Attorney at Law\u201d and \u201cWerewolf by Night\u201d among others). High-profile streaming hits like Netflix\u2019s \u201cCobra Kai,\u201d \u201cWednesday\u201d and \u201cDahmer \u2014 Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story\u201d as well as Amazon\u2019s \u201cThe Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power\u201d also had good showings.<\/p>\n
