Cinema Audio Society Awards Nominations Set: \u2018Avatar: The Way Of Water\u2019, \u2018Top Gun: Maverick\u2019, \u2018Elvis\u2019 & More: <\/h1>\n

Hear that? It\u2019s the Cinema Audio Society\u2019s nominations for its 2023 CAS Awards, which celebrate excellence in sound mixing for film and TV. See the list below.<\/p>\n

Vying for the marquee Motion Picture: Live Action statuette are the sound-mixing teams behind the two top-grossing films of 2022 \u2014 Avatar: The Way of Water, and Top Gun: Maverick \u2014 along with All Quiet on the Western Front, Elvis and The Batman.<\/p>\n

In the mix for the toon feature trophy are Guillermo del Toro\u2019s Pinocchio, Lightyear, Minions: The Rise of Gru, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and Turning Red. The documentary race will feature Good Night Oppy, Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Song, Louis Armstrong\u2019s Black and Blues, Moonage Daydream and The Volcano: Rescue from Whakaari.<\/p>\n

The 59th CAS Awards will be handed out Saturday, March 4, during an in-person ceremony at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. The 2023 Career Achievement Award will be presented to five-time Oscar-nominated production sound mixer Peter J. Devlin, Alejandro Gonz\u00e1lez I\u00f1\u00e1rritu willl receive the Filmmaker of the Year Award for Bardo.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a plethora of award-worthy contenders this year,\u201d CAS President Karol Urban said. \u201cCAS congratulates our industry on the rich sonic tapestries of 2022 and looks forward to celebrating the season\u2019s chosen award recipients for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing.\u201d<\/p>\n
