The fund, launched in partnership with Canada-based venture capital firm Victory Square Labs, will finance a yearly minimum of three films at up to $15 million per film.<\/p>\n<p>To be directed by Johnny Hardstaff and written by Dan Hannon and Scott Sandler, American Violence, follows a social recluse, Zach Bauer, who becomes a hero after effortlessly eliminating several terrorists in a hostage situation. In the aftermath, his mental state is brought into question and he must undergo psychological evaluation under a doctor who becomes surprised by his indifference, and fearful of his abilities. When she fails to empathize with him, Zach takes drastic steps to place her in a deadly situation in attempt to change her perspective. Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce alongside Keith Kjarval, and Unified\u2019s Tyler Jackson will co-produce.<\/p>\n<p>The project adds to Lorenzo di Bonaventura\u2019s already busy slate. Among the upcoming projects he has a hand in, he\u2019s producing the Jason Statham action thriller Meg, based on the novel of the same name about a prehistoric shark that John Turtletaub is directing. It\u2019s currently in pre-production. di Bonaventura is also producing the Mark Wahlberg-starring Deepwater Horizon about the 2010 ecological disaster, set for release September 30.
