Critics Choice Awards Film Nominations Led by \u2018Belfast\u2019 and \u2018West Side Story\u2019: <\/h1>\n

In a busy awards season Monday morning, the Critics Choice Association has revealed its film nominations for the 2022 Critics Choice Awards \u2014 just a few hours after the Hollywood Foreign Press Association revealed its Golden Globes picks. Take a look at the full list of nominees below and stay tuned for further analysis from IndieWire. (The TV nominations were previously announced December 6.)<\/p>\n

\u201cBelfast\u201d from Focus Features and \u201cWest Side Story\u201d from 20th Century Studios lead this year\u2019s film contenders, earning 11 nominations each. In addition to Best Picture, \u201cBelfast\u201d racked up several acting nominations including Best Supporting Actor nods for both Jamie Dornan and Ciar\u00e1n Hinds, Best Supporting Actress for Caitr\u00edona Balfe, Best Young Actor\/Actress for Jude Hill, and Best Acting Ensemble, while Kenneth Branagh could take home both the Best Director and Best Original Screenplay trophies. \u201cBelfast\u201d also earned nominations for Haris Zambarloukos for Best Cinematography, Jim Clay and Claire Nia Richards for Best Production Design, and \u00dana N\u00ed Dhongha\u00edle for Best Editing.<\/p>\n

\u201cDune\u201d and \u201cThe Power of the Dog\u201d trail with 10 nominations each. Steven Spielberg received a Best Director nomination for his Best Picture contender \u201cWest Side Story.\u201d Two of the film\u2019s standout performers, Ariana DeBose and Rita Moreno, will be vying for Best Supporting Actress, while Rachel Zegler is up for Best Young Actor\/Actress. \u201cWest Side Story\u201d also garnered a nomination for Best Acting Ensemble, and nods for Tony Kushner for Best Adapted Screenplay, Janusz Kaminski for Best Cinematography, Adam Stockhausen and Rena DeAngelo for Best Production Design, Sarah Broshar and Michael Kahn for Best Editing, and Paul Tazewell for Best Costume Design.<\/p>\n

\u201cLicorice Pizza\u201d and \u201cNightmare Alley\u201d collected eight nominations apiece, followed by \u201cKing Richard\u201d and \u201cDon\u2019t Look Up,\u201d each with six. Rounding out the Best Picture nominees are \u201cCODA\u201d and \u201cTick Tick Boom.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ballots for the final round of voting for the Critics Choice Awards go out to members January 5, 2022, and are due back just two days later on January 7 at 9 p.m. PT. The 27th Critics Choice Awards will be held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City and air Sunday, January 9, 2022, on The CW Network and TBS. A host has yet to be announced. Taye Diggs, star of the CW\u2019s \u201cAll American,\u201d served as host for the past three years.<\/p>\n
