Also announced on Monday were the nominees for this year\u2019s directorial achievement in documentaries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTed Lasso\u201d and \u201cCurb Your Enthusiasm\u201d lead DGA Awards nominations this year in scripted TV, with two each in the comedy category.<\/p>\n<p>Also scoring multiple nods: Director Jon Favreau, who landed mentions both in the drama category, for \u201cThe Mandalorian,\u201d and in reality, for \u201cThe Chef Show.\u201d The other individual with multiple nominations is \u201cThe Late Show with Stephen Colbert\u2019s\u201d Jim Hoskinson, nominated in variety\/talk\/news\/sports\u2014regularly scheduled programming for the episode \u201c#1025 Live Show Following Capitol Insurrection\u201d and variety\/talk\/news\/sports\u2014specials for \u201cStephen Colbert\u2019s Election Night 2020: Democracy\u2019s Last Stand: Building Back America Great Again Better 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>New series receiving their first major TV awards nomination included Disney Plus\u2019 \u201cWandaVision,\u201d receiving a nod for Matt Shakman in TV movie\/limited series.<\/p>\n<p>Besides \u201cTed Lasso,\u201d \u201cCurb\u201d and \u201cThe Late Show,\u201d also receiving multuple noms was Comedy Central\u2019s \u201cThe Daily Show,\u201d both in the regularly scheduled and specials fields for variety\/talk\/news\/sports.<\/p>\n<p>HBO led all networks, with seven nominations, followed by Netflix\u2019s six. Disney Plus was close behind with five.<\/p>\n<p>In comedy, Zach Braff and MJ Delaney received noms for directing \u201cTed Lasso\u201d episodes, while Jeff Schaffer and Erin O\u2019Malley received those \u201cCurb\u201d noms. They\u2019ll face off with Susanna Fogel from \u201cThe Flight Attendant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Favreau\u2019s \u201cThe Mandalorian\u201d nom will face off in drama with Jason Bateman (\u201cOzark\u201d), Vince Gilligan (\u201cBetter Call Saul\u201d), Lesli Linka Glatter (\u201cHomeland\u201d) and Julie Anne Robinson (\u201cBridgerton\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>The TV movie\/limited series category will be a competition between Shakman and Susanne Bier (\u201cThe Undoing\u201d), Scott Frank (\u201cThe Queen\u2019s Gambit\u201d), Thomas Kail (\u201cHamilton\u201d) and the late Lynn Shelton (\u201cLittle Fires Everywhere\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>Last year, top TV prizes went to \u201cWatchmen\u201d for drama series and \u201cBarry\u201d for comedy series. The DGA Awards are voted on by the 18,000-plus members of the guild. This year\u2019s awards recognizes TV entries broadcast during the period of Jan. 1, 2020, through Feb. 28, 2021. Voting for the TV awards took place between February 19 and March 5.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s DGA Awards will take place on Saturday, April 10, with details to come on how the ceremony will be handled.
