Voltage launches Cannes sales on \u2018Deadly Illusions\u2019 with Kristin Davis (exclusive)<\/h1>\n

Voltage Pictures will launch worldwide sales at the Cannes virtual market next week on the upcoming thriller Deadly Illusions starring Kristin Davis (Sex And The City), Dermot Mulroney (Shameless), Greer Grammer (Awkward), and Shanola Hampton (Shameless).<\/p>\n

Anna Elizabeth James is directing the project from her own screenplay, which Voltage president and COO Jonathan Deckter described as being a throwback to classic thrillers like Basic Instinct.<\/p>\n

James Grammar and Hampton are producing the project, currently in post.<\/p>\n

Deadly Illusions centres on a bestselling female novelist (Davis) suffering from writer\u2019s block who hires a young woman (Grammer) to watch over her twin children.<\/p>\n

As the novelist becomes deeply immersed in her novel, the line between the life she is writing about and the one she is living becomes blurred. Mulroney plays Davis\u2019 husband.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis sophisticated modern take on a nostalgic genre, coupled with a talented cast with legions of fans across multiple demographics, makes for an incredibly strong package that we can\u2019t wait to share with our partners,\u201d said Deckter.<\/p>\n

James added, \u201cDeadly Illusions is a subconscious look into the mind of a successful career woman and mother, her sexual longings and desires, and what can happen when those longings are not fulfilled \u2013 something I want to see more of in cinema.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love those old-school classic thrillers and wanted to create something that was an homage to them but hopefully with a new take and perspective. I feel we succeeded in this and am excited for the ride our audiences will go on. Voltage Pictures\u2019 Sarah Dunn negotiated the deal with Michelle Chang of Ramo Law. The project was formerly called Grace.<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles-bases company\u2019s sales slate includes Liam Neeson action thriller The Marksman; gangster crime biopic Lanksy starring Harvey Keitel, Sam Worthington and Annasophia Robb; and horror feature The Call starring Lin Shaye and Tobin Bell.<\/p>\n
