The digital platform has handed the Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin comedy a 16-episode run for its final season, taking the total number to 94.<\/p>\n
This comes ahead of the Season 6 premiere in January.<\/p>\n
Fonda, Tomlin, Sam Waterston, Martin Sheen, June Diane Raphael, Brooklyn Decker, Baron Vaughn and Ethan Embry will all return for the seventh season of the Skydance Television-produced series.<\/p>\n
Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris will return as showrunners and executive producers of the final season, alongside executive producers Paula Weinstein, Robbie Tollin, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, John Hoffman and Skydance\u2019s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Marcy Ross.<\/p>\n
Season 5 ended with Frankie relieved to return to the beach house, while Grace sheepishly reveals she married Nick, played by Peter Gallagher.<\/p>\n
The series has picked up 11 Emmy nominations during its run as well as six Screen Actors Guild Award nominations and a Golden Globe nomination for Tomlin.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s thrilling and somehow fitting that our show about the challenges, as well as the beauty and dignity of aging, will be the oldest show on Netflix,\u201d said co-creators and showrunners Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris.<\/p>\n
Fonda and Tomlin added: \u201cWe are both delighted and heartbroken that Grace and Frankie will be back for its seventh, though final, season. We\u2019re so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well. We\u2019ll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we\u2019ll still be around. We\u2019ve outlasted so many things \u2013 just hope we don\u2019t outlast the planet.\u201d<\/p>\n
