‘Long Nights Short Mornings’: SXSW Trailer Shows Unsentimental Side Of Dating

EXCLUSIVE: From writer-director Chadd Harbold, Long Nights Short Mornings depicts the convoluted romantic life of a young man in New York City has he navigates his sometimes fleeting, sometimes profound experiences with women. World premiering on Saturday in the Narrative Spotlight section at SXSW, it stars Shiloh Fernandez (We Are Your Friends) as James, a player who is seemingly unattached to the women he dates. The film takes on an anthology-like style and is described as an exploration of “the murky moral terrain of casual sex through various types of dating without everything hinging on ‘will they or won’t they’ stay together.”

Ella Rae Peck, Paten Hughes, Layla Khoshnoudi, Christine Evangelista, Cassandra Freeman, Helen Rogers, Stella Maeve, Natalia Dyer, Ebonée Noel and Addison Timlin co-star. The pic is produced by Dan Berk, Robert Olsen, Alex Sagalchik, and Michael W. Gray, with Preferred Content handling sales in Austin.
